Fig 7 Preparation steps for the installation of BFRP fan Basalt string is prepared using basalt fabric matrix. The string is extracted from the fabric and based on the drilled area the string is placed in the slab. Epoxy resin used is nitobond for placing the string inside the hole drilled through the slab thickness. Hardener is used to fill all the pores formed after placing the string inside the drilled slot. Basalt laminate the slab surface is cleaned nitobond is applied over the area to be laminated and the basalt fabric is laminated over the top and bottom surface of the slab.

Fig 8 Preparation of Basalt laminate for slab The instrument used for testing have a load carrying capacity of 200T and the loading frame in which the slab is simply supported with dimension 1 x 1 x 1.24 m. The load carrying capacity of the loading frame is 100T. I-section of is placed on the top of the slab to transfer impact i.e., line load through the slab.
