Sarmili Swain / Structural Integrity Procedia 00 (2024) 000 – 000 3 The RC building frame is modelled using a structural software SAP2000 and subsequent linear static analysis of the reinforced concrete building model is carried out in three stages as outlined below • Stage 1: RC building frame, designed according to IS 456:2000 for gravity loads, is modeled and analyzed (using SAP2000 software) to ensure structural design adequacy. • Stage 2: The gravity-designed structure is induced to progressive collapse state (loss of structural member i.e., column failure) in accordance with GSA guidelines. Three distinct cases of column removal are carried out to understand the potential capacity for progressive collapse in-terms of structural integrity. • Stage 3: In addition to the above stage, the structure is subjected to a fire load. the fire load assessment for various scenarios (ambient temperature, 30 minutes, and 60 minutes of fire) for this gravity load designed structure is evaluated using SAFIR software. Thermal analysis is performed in accordance with Euro-code standards (EN 1991 and 1992), and it is integrated with the progressive collapse state analysis. The detailed methodology for evaluating the response of RC building is illustrated in the Fig. 2.
