5. Rolling Fatigue Contact Tests 5.1. Tests conditions The rolling contact fatigue tests have been performed on the Cetim TE74 test bench in the following conditions: • Test bench: Cetim TE74. • Specimen geometry: see Fig. 3. • Radius of curvature of the crowned specimen: R = 300 mm. • Oil Lubrication: Mobil Gear 600XP150. • Oil Temperature: 70°C. • Applied load: 3 kN.

• Hertz pressure: P H = 1 355 MPa. • Specimens’ velocity: 3 000 rpm. • Slide-to-roll ratio: 0 (pure rolling conditions). • End of test criterium: macro spalling.

Note: The Mobil Gear 600XP150 is a classical oil for this type of test. As the fatigue contact surface is not the point of interest for this study, the lubrication conditions have not been considered here. The objective of the lubrification is to ensure an elastohydodynamic (EHD) regime to prevent surface crack initiation.
