Prototypes of pipes are also tested in full scale, especially for the validation of fatigue capacity of the TA. These tests have been used to check the fatigue model of the polymeric layers, by estimating the fatigue damage applied to the outer sheath and inner pressure sheath during the full-scale test part and completed by small scale destructive cyclic testing. These complementary tests are used to measure the remaining fatigue capacity of the extruded layers. Overall, full-scale tests confirmed that the polymer fatigue damage is lower than the tensile armour steel fatigue damage.
