Figure 13-b : Line of CL connection before its turning into the rebars cage. This device simplified the concreting work in comparison with another connection, while insuring the required fatigue resistance.

The same type of application would be very useful to simplify the realization of the Turboalternators of the Nuclear Power Plants (Fig. 15) and are calculated in order to transfer important forces to the concrete support without causing damage to these reinforced concrete structures. This conception has been studied with GE for Hinkley Point.

These dowels can also make new types of bridges possible as for instance the Vistula River railway bridge in Krakow, Poland, a bridge where fatigue is an important issue. The structure is the world’s first auto -anchored arch bridge using cold-bent HD rolled sections. It is described in [26] by W. Lorenc and all.
