3.3. SS#3 configuration In the SS#3 configuration the initial delamination has been increased up to 140 mm. The results in terms of load and delaminated area as a function of the applied compressive displacement are displayed in Figure 9, while Figure 10 shows the delamination propagation status and the out-of-plane displacements at the damage initiation step and at the last step of the analysis. The compressive behaviour of this configuration differs from SS#1 configuration, as the maximum load is lower and the delamination onset is anticipated, while results very similar to the SS#2 panel, both in terms of load (22.6 kN versus 27.8 kN) and in terms of delaminated area trend. This can be observed in Figure 11, where the load and delaminated area trend are compared for the three panel configurations.
