4.2. Visual inspection A comprehensive visual inspection was carried out to identify any signs of distress on all the piers and steel girders as there was no past history of assessment, repair, or retrofitting of this bridge. The inspection revealed that there was no scouring at the bottom of the piers or abutments, and all structural elements were found to be in good condition. Additionally, all geometric details of the structure were recorded during the visual inspection and used later for developing numerical models.
