measurements were used to establish a criterion for mixed mode delamination crack initiation based on the deviation from linearity of the load vs displacements curve, which is often readily available. With this criterion, only opening displacement at the initial crack location and load measurements are needed to determine delamination onset (and thus 0 and 0 ) from a given R-curve.
