As demonstrated by Figs. 2 and 3, there is very good agreement of numerical results, compared to the experimental testing. 3D setting gives the best agreement of the results, as demonstrated above. In 2D setting, it can be observed the plane strain assumption gives an overestimation in the force-displacement diagram, while plane stress assumption gives much better correspondence of the results. Furthermore, the distribution of the PF variable after the fracture is shown in Fig. 4 on 2D, as 3D model, where position of the fracture is compared to real specimen.
