Numerical and experimental results have been compared to the design reference performance of the isolation system, by ensuring the proper protection of the building from eventual plastic deformations. 5. Comparison of results In this section the experimental outcomes of hybrid simulation are analyzed, together with the peak results of the numerical non-linear time history analyses, in comparison to the design target values. Special attention has been focused on the experimental hysteretic response of the isolation system, the peak displacement subjected to the devices and the peak base shear of the building. All the peak quantities for all the seismic events of the adopted selection have been normalized with respect to the correspondent design target value, in order to quantify the accuracy and the effectiveness of the fast-design procedure used in this study. In Fig. 4 the experimental hysteretic response of the isolation layer is shown for all the events (solid lines), in comparison to the dashed full cycle assumed in design (dashed lines). 5
