with different materials from current stainless steel. T-CAM is a simple, fast and streamlined tensioning system even for fiber fabrics which, up to now, have been relegated to a passive method of strengthening with rare exception. T-CAM will become an easier on-site preparation tensioner suitable also for post tensioning of bridges using steel, fibers, or other innovative materials, thus allowing check-ups and verification of the applied beneficial stress over time. The tensioner geometry, as well as the material and the geometry used for the belt, will depend on the desired strengthening performance for those specific structures under intervention. This adaptability is only possible with 3D metal printing. Unlike the tensioning systems currently in use in infrastructure, its installation will be facilitated by the use of light and simple on-site equipment and tools. In addition to the tensioning device, the equipment is also in-house designed and produced by Edil CAM Sistemi Srl. The T-CAM tensioner will be used for those works where large ranges of mechanical performance need to be covered, but also in the consolidation of civil buildings, masonry and reinforced concrete as a natural evolution of the CAM ® System. The 3D printing can once again provide the best solutions because even mass production is possible with additive manufacturing.
