It is characterised by rectangular plan of maximum dimensions 82x65m with a courtyard of 27x29m (Figure 3a). The overall height is variable as the building is located close to the hill: the maximum height is equal to 28.25m and the minimum is 23.75m. In particular, from the cross-sections given in Figures 3b and 3c, the following heights result: • the Southern part on via Foria and the Eastern part are at the lowest height and are characterized by four levels, one of which is a mezzanine level, with an overall height of 28.25m; • being the building located on a hill, the other parts are characterized by lower height of 23.75m, with three level and a basement, which is mezzanine for Southern and Eastern parts.

The ground floor is characterized by an area of 1,521m 2 and an interstorey of 3.5m; the mezzanine floor by an area of 2,524m 2 and an interstorey of 3.9m; the first, the second and the third floor by an area of 2,794 m 2 and an interstorey of 6.8m, 6.2m and 6.6m, respectively. The thickness of the main walls varies from 155cm, at the first level, to 30cm at the last one. The structure is made of tuff masonry. The floors consist of vaults and roof composed of steel beams.
