2.1. Roadworks surveillance The surveillance of the 476 roadworks is carried out in order to identify and report any possible situation of ongoing hazard or incipient danger for the public safety that requires urgent maintenance intervention and any other ascertainable situation that requires programmable maintenance. The surveillance organization is founded on an operations center with mobile teams that operate non-stop 7d / 7d 24h / 24h ensuring the monitoring of the territory. Within the operations center there is an integrated system called STAR (Signaling and Tracking of Anomalies on the streets of Rome) which therefore allows a geo-localized signaling that allows both prompt intervention and scheduled maintenance.

2.2. Structural monitoring of bridges The bridge management system is structured according to the following activities: a) visual monitoring campaign and compilation of checklists indicating the state of conservation and any problems: • land examination surrounding the shoulder; • shoulder foundation examination; • pile foundation examination; • examination of the structure in shoulder elevation; b) drafting of graphic documentary sheets for the analysis of the roadwork; c) preparation of photographic documentation and GPS mapping of roadwork; d) instrumental monitoring campaign by means of geodetic checks of the constructions for traking of the deformed configuration and maximum deflection; e) execution of analysis for the characterization of materials with in situ tests, non-destructive tests and laboratory tests on concrete, steel and masonry as well as static load tests and dynamic tests; f) execution, on the basis of the acquired data, of structural evaluation by a finite element calibrated model; All the activities indicated above are carried out with the following frequency: 1. visual monitoring campaign: quarterly inspections; 2. instrumental monitoring campaign and geodetic checks: annually; 3. structural evaluation on selected bridges: annually. • examination of the pile elevation structure; • examination of the intrados of the structure; • examination of the state of the supports; • extrados examination of the structure;
