Fig. 5 (a) and (b) show the results of correlation analysis between LOS displacement time series of MP on Scrovegni Chapel and environmental parameters along the whole monitoring period (from 2013 to 2021). The graphs show a low correlation between LOS displacements and both temperature and humidity. Moreover, the analysis provides a different trend for the two environmental parameters: a negative correlation between LOS displacements and temperature can be detected, while the correlation between LOS displacements and humidity returns positive or slightly null values. A second correlation analysis is performed for a shorter time period, since noise effects of time series are higher on a long period and could lead to lower results. A two-year period from 2014 to 2015 is taken into account as it is characterized by regular satellite acquisitions. As expected, correlation analysis displayed in Fig. 5 (a) and (b) provides higher values of r xy coefficient, proving possible correspondence between LOS displacement and environmental parameters.
