The innovativeness of the project envisaged for Castelluccio di Norcia consists on various aspects: for the first time a post-earthquake rebuilding is carried out on a seismically isolated platform for the aggregates of historical origin, moreover with a configuration characterized by significant slopes that require terracing of the platform. New features to underline in the history of post-earthquake rebuilding is the fact that Castelluccio will be the subject of a unitary rebuilding by the State, in collaboration with the private buildings ’ owners. After the demolition’s approval program by the City Council, the joint management of all the process ’ phases connected with the rebuilding’s implementation works is envisaged, in order to simplify the procedural and implementation process. The unity of the intervention itself represents an innovative solution that will allow the construction’s optimization phases and the rebuilding’ s reduction times, through the coordination and connection of the project phases with the construction phases. The integrated project for the Cast elluccio’s rebuilding also makes it possible to address important issues. The first concerns the relationship between form and structure: the foundation systems are essential elements for the safety and buildings ’ stability, however they remain invisible and never participate in the definition of the architectural form. In this case, given the urban dimension and the place’s specificity, the relationship between form and structure constitutes a research topic of great importance; from the analysis of the urban section it is clear the articulation and the ability to adapt building structure to the morphological trend of the hill. The second issue, linked to the first, given the particular Castelluccio’s configuration, is to ensure in the executive development phase the close relationship between urban morphology and the typological structure of the isolated platform, integrating all the folds and small changes in height. The floor plan drawn "from below" highlights the settlement principles, the irregular roads’ shape and geometric limits of the building. The project thus becomes a "measurement" tool, a guiding section between the typological reference and the supporting structure. The third question concerns the work’s visitability: given the urban dimension of the infrastructure (platform) and its centrality of settlement in front of the Piana di Castelluccio, it was decided to work to make it visitable and usable, enhancing both the circular route (for the maintenance and monitoring), and the underground spaces that can be obtained from the excavation section. A topic of great interest, still under study, is represented by augmented reality and the opportunity to look at the "suspended" country from a distance. 9. References Mezzi M., 2021.
