Conclusions In this work, it is shown that the presence of regions of the “ γ -Fe + Fe 2 B” eutectic in a monolithic SHS - composite of the Fe-Ni-T-C-B system has a plasticizing effect under mechanical loading. The eutectic “γ -Fe + Fe 2 B” is characterized by maximum plastic characteristics ( h max , φ , C IT ) during microindentation. In the course of transverse bending tests, the most favorable location of the dendrites of the Fe 2 B eutectic is perpendicular to the fracture surface. In this case, Fe 2 B boride has both a strengthening and a plasticizing effect on the fracture process, preventing the rapid growth of cracks. The maximum strength characteristics ( E *, R e , H IT / E *, H IT 3 / E * 2 ) correspond to the regions “γ - Fe + TiC” and “γ -Fe + TiB 2 + TiC”.
