Fig. 14 to Fig. 16 present fracture surfaces of a progressive cracking phenomenon under cyclic stresses. It may be seen: • Radial lines radiating from the initiation zone, • Frontal line showing the crack propagation, • Sudden rupture zone with a shiny appearance (fragile or even semi-fragile nature of the material).
