6. Summary and Conclusions • Exponential and linear empirical models were developed in this study. The models were able to predict the load carrying capacity of the axially and uniaxially loaded columns with a very good accuracy compared to experimental results. • The gain in load carrying capacity is highly dependent on the number of CFRP wraps, yet it is inversely proportional to the eccentricity ratio. • The developed empirical models have exponential decay and a near-perfect fit to the experimental results, especially the exponential models, with R 2 averaging more than 99% and an average mean absolute percent error (MAPE) of 6.6%. • The developed linear models showed reasonable accuracy in predicting the axial load capacity of axially and uniaxially loaded columns with R 2 ranging between 89-98% and an average MAPE of 23.6%.
