3.2. DIC results comparison In the experimental test a 3D DIC equipment was used to acquire the full field data of displacements. Here, there is a possibility to compare both results, again remember using Pamcrash . Fig. 9, Fig. 10 and Fig. 11 show the outcome of the contour field for the horizontal displacements (U), vertical (V) and perpendicular displacement to the plane (W) either experimental and FE. As this door is an unstable structure due to the buckling phenomenon, it is necessary to be doubly aware to its study. The vertical displacement and the perpendicular to the plane, are those that are closer, and therefore those that demonstrate the best approach. Note that in the Fig. 11, the area represented by red color is the area where the buckling occurs. In the experimental test this location was displaced at around 95.5mm while numerically 112.9mm. On the other hand, the vertical displacement is also very close, with the range starting at -25.8mm and ending at -1.6mm while in numerical at -36.6mm up to 1.84mm. It appears that the deviation is quite low. The largest deviation is verified in the horizontal displacement field.
