The analysis of the residual fatigue life vs. bending impact intensity diagram showed a threshold of impact sensitivity. Impacts with energies exceeding the threshold led to substantial reduction of fatigue life – more than 10% of the nominal value Nmax – for the studied carbon fiber composites. Photos of specimen failure fractures after preliminary impact tests using the three-point bending pattern and further cyclic elongation are given in Fig. 6.
