In order to clarify the causes of deep cracks on the end part of the chamber, comparative studies of metal samples cut from the end (position II) and tail parts of the chamber, position I (Fig. 3) were carried out. Mechanical properties at different temperatures were investigated, and metallographic, chemical and gas analysis of copper was carried out.
