3. Results and discussion Specimens were cut out of from the welded plates in two different shapes according to the respective standards for static and fatigue tests. The measured stress-strain curves were reported in Figure 3 as a comparison between a welded and an as-built specimen (presented in Caiazzo et al. (2021)). Through this comparison, it can be stated that the LBW process did not degrade the static properties of the material. All two specimens tested statically reported the failure within the base material.
