RISK-Terra, framework of the study The RISK-Terra project (financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science, led by Universitat Politècnica de València researchers) aims to provide a scientific study of natural, anthropic, and social hazards as well as deterioration mechanisms and transformation dynamics currently affecting the earthen architecture of the Iberian Peninsula. The Abstract In the Iberian Peninsula the existing earthen (above all vernacular) buildings are hardly socially recognized. The current heritage is vast, rich and valuable but has suffered (and continues to suffer) fro the effects of abandon ent and lack of aintenance. This, in conjunction ith unsuitable interventions, orsens the resistance and durability of this architecture.
