3.3. Failure strain Based on the effective plastic strain contour, it can be observed that the impact attenuator does not experience severe strain. This situation indicated by the fringe of the impact attenuator is blue, which means that the element has not experienced a significant strain, or it can be stated as minimum deformation, as shown in the following Fig. 8.
