In order to deal with these sub-tasks, a specific Working Group has been created within CEN: TC 250/SC 3/WG 9 as early as in 2014. From the contractual point of view, a five-member Project Team (SC3.T8) was created as a part of Phase 3 (July 2018 – June 2021) as specified by the Response to Mandate M/515 (2013). Note: SC 3 is TC 250 subcommittee dealing with all the parts of Eurocode 3 (steel structures). Table 1 contains two sub-tasks common for the revision of all Eurocodes, namely sub-tasks 1 and 2. The others are proper to EN 1993-1-9 (2005). It is also evident that some of the sub-tasks are considered with higher priority comparing to others: the tasks that have EC priority must be fulfilled. The others are wishful, but the Project Team in charge of drafting the new version of the standard cannot be held responsible if nothing has been included. The sub-tasks are detailed in the sub-chapters given below. 2.2.1. Sub-task 1: Reduction in number of National Choices (NDPs) The inclusion of NDPs in the published Eurocodes has exceeded what was originally expected. All tasks dealing with existing Eurocode parts include thus a requirement to work to reduce the number of NDPs and enable better consensus on values / choices adopted by countries. The differences of use among countries can be seen in Table 2.

The Project Team is expected to develop proposals to reduce the number of NDPs and/or enable better consensus on values adopted by countries to be achieved. Those proposals should be included in deliverables (new drafts of the standard).
