3. In the case of a mean sliding speed, V s , of no less than 400 μm/s, adhesive wear occurs. T he kinetic friction coefficient converges on a bout 0.85 with increasing the number of cycles, N . 4. In the case of a mean sliding speed, V s , of no more tha n 40 μm/s, abrasive wear occurs probably because wear debris serves as a lubricant, resulting in a lower μ k value of about 0.6 at N = 10 4 cycles.
