3.3. Observation of worn surfaces

Figure 7 shows the specimen surfaces, from which wear debris was removed by ultrasonic cleaning with acetone after the tests. Wear scars shown in Figure 7 (a)-(d) ( f = 1 and 10Hz) have a similar feature exhibiting a marked irregularity in the surface morphology. In contrast, the surface illustrated in Figure 7 (e) ( f = 0.1Hz) was scuffed in the sliding direction (i.e. circumferential direction).
