Figures 7 and 8 illustrate the effect of pre-crack site of FGM speciment on the crack path. As shown in the figures, the crack path grows in a parallel maner independent of the crack length of the pre-crack. The crack which emanates from the pre-crack grows toward the oppositee side corresponding to the applied load.
