The steel ageing processes may not always reduce the serviceability of pressured pipes in all operating conditions. They also do not reduce the strength values; they can even increase them, and the pressure resistance of pipeline may not be at risk in this case at all. The low ductility values and especially low notch toughness values endanger the operation of the pipelines. They endanger the operation especially at low temperatures as well as in cases of impact stress or in cases with sharp contact of subsoil (requiring local plastic deformation). The low ductility and notch toughness values mainly endanger steel weldability during maintenance, reparation and replacement of individual pipeline parts without the possibility to enlarge the lifetime (Kliman, 2015, Chmelko, 2018, Kepka 2018).
