Ideal steering angles as a function of articulation angles are calculated by using the equation shown above and was verified graphically as well. These ideal angles were used for getting three position required for synthesis by using Freudenstein’s Equation. By this method, the initial link lengths and positions are obtained. The synthesized mechanism was further optimized by using Genetic Algorithm in MATLAB. Required codes were written for the mathematical model for fifth wheel mechanism as shown in Fig. 3, rear cylinder mechanism, tie rod mechanism and second axle mechanism. The basis for the codes are shown below.
