The Fig. 10 shows acceleration at only few selected nodes on the V-plate where blast wave strikes in the beginning.

Figure 10. Acceleration on vehicle hull

Fig. 11 depicts that the peak acceleration is in the range of 1520 mm/ ms 2 for approximate duration of 0.005 second. As the duration is very small, the fatal effect will be less. The overall impulse is low. The above acceleration values are on the V-plate of hull. By using secondary energy absorption mechanism, the acceleration values can be brought down further at occupant level. 8. Conclusion The following major points are concluded from the nonlinear explicit analysis of vehicle hull against a blast load of 8 kg TNT.  The deflection of the V-plate is maximum i.e. 45.37 mm which is within the permissible limits of deformation of the hull.  Significant nonlinear characteristics are observed for the V-hull mainly the parameters like stand-off distance, explosive mass, location of explosive and angle of V-hull plays major role in blast mitigation.  High stress regions are located near to gear box housing due to the stress concentration region. The peak stress value observed is 1100 N/mm 2 .  The peak acceleration is observed above the location of blast. The value of peak acceleration is1520 mm/ ms 2 .
