tension dominated load cases (high positive stress triaxialities) more extended regions of higher strain appear which indicates rather void growth dominitad damage processes and for shear dominated load cases (stress triaxialities around zero and below) micro shear cracks lead to final failure. In the future further focus should be given to the behavior of the specimen in thickness direction, specially since the non-destructive experimental method (DIC) can be used to determine the onset of remarkable damage processes for ductile metals. Overall, an experimental-numerical technique has to be established to link back the experimental data to the continuum damage model and to determine the corresponding material parameters.
