displacement on the top edge, whereas the bottom edge in the vertical direction is fixed. The geometric properties and the boundary conditions are depicted in Fig. 1. The structured mesh size of the specimen is chosen to be h = 1mm. The evolution of the crack phase-field s at the various fracture stages is reported in Fig. 2.
