4. Conclusions

It has been demonstrated that meso-structure models with CDP with hardening for mortar and zCE for ITZ improve the prediction of concrete behaviour in both tension and compression. The stress-strain curves and failure patterns are in very good agreement with experiments. Currently, the calibration of model parameters is complex, mainly due to the lack of consistent data for structure and macroscopic properties. Work is ongoing to determine mortar and concrete behaviour separately to advance the constitutive modelling at the meso-scale.
