Conclusions

The paper presents the asymptotic analysis of the stress-strain state and damage distribution near the crack tip in damaged materials. Asymptotic fields of stress, creep strain rate and damage of mixed mode I/II crack are obtained and higher order terms of the asymptotic solution at a crack tip are analyzed. The geometry of the completely damaged zone near the crack tip for all range of the values of the mixity parameter is studied. It is shown that new asymptotic behavior of the stresses governs the damage accumulation zone. Cumulative damage zone extent estimation is done by Vesely and Frantik (2014). Reasonable agreement is observed between the results presented in Vesely and Frantik (2014) and the approximate solutions obtained by means the similarity variable in this study. The higher order asymptotic solutions presented in the paper could further promote the understanding of failure behavior of cracks in damaged power-law creeping solids under mixed mode conditions.
