In conclusion, in LME, low-melting-point metals have two effects: lowering the cleavage plane strength, and penetration into grain boundaries of the solid metal. The latter results in a large decrease in the strength of the grain boundaries and induces intergranular fracture, as in the case of Zn solid Ga liquid . The former results in transgranular fracture when the latter does not occur, as in the case of Zn solid In liquid and Zn solid Sn liquid .
