5. Results
5.1. Static analysis
Referring to the ULS, numerical convergence is not achieved even under the vertical loads corresponding to the structure’s current use, but only up to a scaled value equal to 80% of the overall loads. Hence, the safety requirements have not been meet, and the structure’s stability cannot be verified for the NTC code. Figs. 8 to 10 show some of the information provided by the analysis for the stated percentage of loads. Fig. 8 shows the mesh used in the deformed shape (deformations are amplified 200 times).

Figs. 9a) and b) show a plane view of the contour map of the principal compressive stress occurring on the extrados of the lower and the upper vaults, respectively.
