4. Conclusions Based on the analytical result of this study, the following conclusions are drawn:
Utilization of shear walls can contribute to decreasing lateral displacements, storey drift, time period, and increasing stiffness of the structure By comparing shear walls at center model and shear walls at center and edges model, it is found that shear walls should be placed in both short and long directions. Shear walls become more effective when placed symmetrically apart from the center of mass of the building. Shear walls at the periphery show better performances. References Belgaonkar, S.
