There is a lengthwise crack in one of the bars. The component moves in the vertical plane according to a given law. The inertia loads and their distribution in the component are analyzed. The component behaves as a non-linear elastic body. The parameters of the non-linear stress-strain relation used to treat the component behavior are distributed smoothly over the thickness, since the bars are functionally graded along their thickness. The strain energy release rate (SERR) in the frame-like component is derived. The solution is checked by applying the method of J -integral. The SERR solution is used for evaluation of the effects of various factors (geometric shape, distribution of the parameters of non-linear stress-strain law, length of the bars, and others) on the lengthwise fracture in the planar component. In this regard, a parametric investigation is conducted. Various graphs indicating variation of the SERR are presented.
