2.2. Material properties Material properties were assigned to the L-80 casing and the hardened steel TJ using standard elastic/plastic definitions consistent with grade behaviour. The materials’ properties are shown in Table 1.

2.3. Mesh The contact region was discretized using a refined mesh to capture the gradient change in the contact pressure. Inflation layers were applied to the inner surface of the casing where sliding occurs. A mesh sensitivity check was performed to ensure that discretization effects did not dominate predicted wear trends.
