4-8 days. After drying, test prisms with the required geometric parameters were manufactured in accordance with DSTU EN 518:2003 and DSTU EN 336:2003 and stored indoors to prevent an increase in moisture content above 12%. Moisture content control of the test specimens was carried out at all stages of preparation using a GREISINGER GMH 3800 Series moisture meter in accordance with DSTU 4922:2008, including: 1) wood cutting; 2) air drying; 3) chamber drying.

At the first stage of preparation, a portion of the test specimens of each wood species was selected for modification with the Silor polymer composition. The impregnation process was carried out using the autoclave method. Five identical specimens of each wood species were treated simultaneously in accordance with the experimental program (Table 1). Impregnation was performed at a temperature of 19- 21 °C: prismatic specimens were placed in an autoclave cont aining Silor for 2 hours, where modification occurred under a pressure of 2.5 atm (Yasniy et al. (2022); Matviuk et al. (2025)). After impregnation, the spruce and ash specimens were removed from the autoclave and dried at a temperature of 18- 21 °C for two days. In accordance with the experimental program (Table 1), the specimens were subsequently immersed in a water environment. Specifically, unmodified specimens were immersed in water for a period of 28 days, while specimens previously modified with Silor were immersed for 180 days. The prisms were immersed in a horizontal position, ensuring complete submersion of each specimen and full contact of the liquid with all surfaces, which guaranteed uniform penetration of water throughout the material thickness. Experimental testing was performed under axial compression parallel to the grain using single short-term loading under a rigid loading regime. The tests were conducted on a universal servo-driven testing machine STM-100 in accordance with DSTU EN 380:2008 (Yasniy et al. (2022); Matviuk et al. (2025)) (Fig. 2).
