3.2 Corrosion Modelling The corrosion modelling results provide a comprehensive depth- based analysis of the tubing’s internal environment, particularly focusing on pH distribution, flow regime, scaling tendencies, and pitting corrosion risk. In Figures 6 and 8, the deepest point of the well is at 0 km whereas the wellhead is at the right-most point on the x-axis. As illustrated in Figure 6 , the highest pH values occur at the deepest points of the well despite the elevated CO₂ partial pressures typically associated with acidification. This counterintuitive result is explained by the significantly lower solubility of CO₂ in water at high down hole temperatures, limiting carbonic acid formation, as shown in the solubility
