3.2. Microstructure investigation The microstructure produced by the Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF) process was studied in an article focused on the fatigue behaviour of INC 939 (Babinský et al., 2025), carried out within the same project that supports the research on the creep behaviour of this material. The Babinský at al. demonstrated that microstructure exhibits grains with an average grain size of about 20 µ m, predominantly elongated along the build direction. Experimental observations indicate that the grain size in the L-PBF state is significantly finer than in the cast condition, accompanied by substantial variability in grain dimensions.
