The fatigue tests were caried out in an MTS Landmark model 370.10 (MTS, 2021). This testing system was chosen for its ability to apply dynamic loads at relatively low amplitudes, which is particularly important when working with specimens that have small cross-sectional areas and thus require lower force levels. To secure the samples during testing, a 647.10 Wedge Set Assy was used, designed to accommodate specimen thicknesses between 0 mm and 7.6 mm (MTS, 2016). The fixture setup used for the fatigue tests is illustrated in Fig. 2.
