This work presents FEMUP, a novel and user-friendly Python-based plug-in designed to streamline the finite el ement model updating process directly within Autodesk Revit. By leveraging pyRevit and integrating with FE soft ware Abaqus, FEMUP addresses the inherent challenges of BIM-FEA interoperability, enabling the visualization of mesh data and the execution of modal updating. The methodology, powered by Particle Swarm Optimization, has demonstrated its e ffi cacy through a case study involving a masonry arch bridge. The results unequivocally show that FEMUP can accurately calibrate structural parameters—specifically Young’s modulus and material density of the side
