in Fig. 4e, highlighting the substantial utilization of the upper cryostat flanges that, however, remained within the utilization limits specified in the executive design, thanks to the conceived structural system.
6. Conclusions
This paper has presented the concept and design of the DarkSide-20k experiment for direct dark matter detection, mainly focusing on the engineering aspects. The project entered its construction phase in 2023 with the installation of the cryostat in LNGS. Extensive work has since continued, with numerous engineering activities still underway to advance the integration of components and ensure compliance with stringent design and performance requirements. Completion of the installation and readiness for commissioning are expected by the end of 2027.
