Fig. 7 provides a comparison between the results obtained using the theoretical model, i.e. Eq. 2, and those derived from the numerical analysis performed in SAP 2000. It is readily apparent that the accuracy of the theoretical model is very high, with a maximum percentage deviation between the theoretical and numerical results of only 0.80%. The red dashed line indicates the 10% threshold value imposed by Eurocode 8 for the diaphragm deformability check.
