pronounced, accompanied by increased energy dissipation, highlighting the role of internal friction. Overall, the re sults emphasize that accurate representation of the cable’s deflected shape through reconstruction of its mean (neutral) axis allows for precise quantification of the bending curvature along the cable’s length. In addition, the experimen tal results form a valuable dataset for calibrating finite element (FE) models, enhancing the accuracy and predictive capability of numerical simulations for o ff shore power cables.
