surfaces are available. If one of the values is missing, due to data loss or a reading at the background level below the detection threshold, the ratio cannot be determined. The ratio is calculated according to Equation 2.
S d , c , i , o S d , c , i , r
(2)
R d , c , i =
where
• R d , c , i - ratio of average monthly deposition of chloride ions measured by the wet candle method ( − ); • S d , c , i , o - average monthly deposition of chloride ions measured by the wet candle method on the obverse surface (more distant surface) (mg / (m 2 · day)); • S d , c , i , r - average monthly deposition of chloride ions measured by the wet candle method on the reverse surface (close to the road) (mg / (m 2 · day));
3. Results
The measured results of chloride ion deposition are presented in Table 2. These data were collected as described in Section 2. The designation of chloride deposition on an individual stand from wet candle measurements is of the form S d , c , i , where i is the number of stand (from 1 to 6) and surface orientation (”o” or ”r”).

To better evaluate the e ff ect of the noise barrier, the deposition ratio was calculated using Equation 2. The resulting values are presented in the boxplot in Figure 5, which illustrates the distribution of the ratio for each monitoring stand, including individual data points and outliers. The mean value for each stand is also indicated. Summary statistics corresponding to the boxplot, such as minimum, maximum, median, quartiles and standard deviation, are provided in Table 3.
