Finite element model of the mixer assembly of injector head is given in Fig. 7. (a). Considering symmetry of geometry and loads, 60 0 model was used with cyclic symmetric boundary conditions provided at both sectional faces (see Fig. 7. (b)). 4.3. Thermo-structural analysis of the mixer assembly of injector head for operating conditions Maximum von Mises stress of modified Gas duct-Diffuser assembly is 475N/mm 2 (neglecting local peak stress value of 495 N/mm 2 ), which is in the lower half of the gas duct (see Fig. 6. (b)) is within the yield strength of the material at operating temperature. Hence, the configuration is safe from structural point of view for the loads under operating conditions.

Pressure and temperature distribution corresponding to operating conditions is shown in Fig. 8. (a) and Fig. 8. (b) respectively.
Fig. 8. (a) Pressure distribution in mixer assembly; (b) Temperature distribution in mixer assembly
Maximum von Mises stress in response to applied loads is 786 N/mm 2 . Neglecting the local peak stress values, global von Mises stress is 612 N/mm 2 (in mixer assembly body), which is within the yield strength of the material (HSS) at the corresponding temperature.
